I recently bought a new vehicle and found that the vehicle is not factory fitted with mud flaps.

Why is this ? Seems to be a forgotten essential “must have” which you now must pay for separately.

I have done a bit of investigation and found that for some vehicles you cannot even get mud flaps, it must be custom made at a cost ?

Mud flaps keep dirt and road debris from kicking up and hitting sensitive parts of your vehicle and protects the paint and finish of body side panels. They thus also keep your car cleaner, which means fewer trips to the car wash.

Importantly mud flaps assist to keep stones from kicking up and damaging other road user’s vehicles and windscreens. It also protects pedestrians from being struck from road debris.

Mud flaps are great investment for any vehicle. It is an inexpensive accessory that will save your money and time in the future. It provides hassle-free maintenance, while keeping your vehicle in good condition and also protects other road users. Believe it or not mud flaps can withstand all sorts of different weather conditions. The road debris that comes in contact with the exterior of the vehicle can also damage the underside of the vehicle which can over time cause corrosion.

Maybe I am old school but I believe mud flaps should make a comeback and should be mandatory.
