Following a $1Billion investment in the SA plant , that's R15 billion, the  @Ford South Africa  plant is gearing up to start building the all new #NextGenRanger models. To show the value of this investment, it's created 1200 new jobs in the plant and 10 000 new jobs at suppliers to the plant. Many of these suppliers are located in the Special Economic Zone next door to the Ford plant. The new models have been shown internationally but today was the first media viewing in SA. Both the Ranger and Everest have grown bigger and much bolder. Especially the front view.

New engines, including a 3L V6 diesel will be available and the technology both inside the cab and under the skin is a quantum leap from the outgoing generation. The factory is now geared to produce 200 000 Rangers per year with at least 70% of these being exported to over 100 countries in Africa and elsewhere. The Everest will now be fully imported but becomes more of a stand-alone range from the Ranger. The new Platinum top spec level will be available and will take the new Everest model to a next level.

Bring on the actual launch and the opportunity to drive.
