South Africa’s motoring landscape is about to undergo a major change with the imminent launch of two completely new vehicle ranges, kicking off with the Salvador Caetano Group, in partnership with GAC Motor, being poised for an ambitious rollout of vehicle models and an expansive strategy to grow their network presence.

The managing mirector of Salvador Caetano South Africa, Leslie Ramsoomar, expressed high expectations for the venture, stating: "The South African market represents a compelling opportunity for GAC Motor with its dynamic automotive landscape, coupled with a growing demand for innovation.

The 2024 GAC Motor lineup includes the Emkoo, which features a captivating front grille with rhythmic lighting and an interactive intelligent cabin, designed to enhance the driving experience by merging style, innovation and safety.

Also coming is the Emzoom, a SUV blending advanced safety features with powerful performance to ensure a comprehensive and secure driving experience. The vehicle boasts superior fuel efficiency without sacrificing power, enhancing the appeal of each journey.

LDV, part of the global SAIC automotive group, has announced the approval of its full range of passenger and commercial vehicles for the South African market and will commence with the LDV T60 double cab pick-up.

Ockert Conradie, general manager of LDV South Africa, highlighted the vehicle’s success and robust features, noting: "The T60 range is a global best-seller for LDV, and it has already proven itself in markets with very similar climates to South Africa."

Following the T60, the D90 SUV is set to make its entrance. This seven-seater SUV, has a 5-star Safety Rating and will cater to the South African market with a 160 kW bi-turbo diesel engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and an intelligent all-terrain response system.

Conradie emphasized the technological advancements in the new-generation D90, which include multi-zone climate control, a JBL-tuned sound system and up to three differential locks for 4x4 models.

For businesses, the G10+ Delivery Van offers a practical solution with ample cargo space and efficient performance, ensuring ease of operation through features like a smooth automatic transmission and a reverse camera.

LDV is committed to supporting its South African clientele with a comprehensive 5-year/200 000 km factory warranty and a 5-year/100 000 km service plan.
